A Few Tips for Upmost Pleasure when it comes to Cannabis and Sex
As Valentine’s Day comes closer we wanted to offer up a little bit of knowledge to help you spice up your special day. Join us as we dig into Cannabis and Sex a little deeper, and share some tips for you to take advantage of.
Let us start off by saying that it ALL depends...
This is huge. The effects of marijuana as a whole aren’t entirely predictable. Meaning, no two people are going to feel the same way when it comes to this. Different people have entirely different experiences, as expected. The different experiences depend heavily on the type of intake, strain, situation, and the person. Not only that, but there’s so much more than just the cannabis flower. In this day and age, there’s no limit on the weed strains or concentration (THC, CBD, CBN, cannabinoids in general); which brings us to wax and all of the types there; and then edibles which are all different with different strengths and effects; leaving us with all of the odds and ends from weed lube all the way to Cannabis Flavored Condoms. What?! Exactly. The options are endless. Therefore it’s not realistic for us to make a blanket statement such as all weed is going to give you incredible sex. However we can give you some tips and tricks to make the love making ideal.
Weed Allows Us to Relax
Moving forward. You likely already know that cannabis helps us to relax, if you are planning on using weed to help you relax… we want to remind you NOT to pick a strain that brings on the paranoia! Seems obvious, but some of us tend to forget that paranoia is a common side effect of some strains. Nobody wants to be paranoid while attempting to relax, OR while they’re partaking in the love making. If relaxing is your intention, look into different indica strains, do some research. Read up on the difference in strains, get to know the good, the bad, and the ugly so to speak, and pick your poison. Another piece of advice, make sure you are comfortable with cannabis, so you don’t end up embarrassing yourself in the bedroom. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. The goal is to overall make your sex better, not worse.
Sativa gives us a more Invigorating Effect
If you are looking for something a touch more uplifting sex columnist and author Lisa Kirkman has a lot to say. She states that “intercourse and cannabis prompt us to release oxytocin, the love molecule, which is a hormone related to sexual patterns as well as maternal and paternal behavior, which also acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain”. Lisa Kirkman also said that when it comes to sativa “they have the effect of contracting muscles, which improves performance." As a whole cannabis increases and corporal perception, and works as a dis-inhibitor. Therefore, when it comes to couples that are looking for a little more pleasure and connection, this is the direction to take, but remember each couple has to find their own “love potion” for the best outcome. So with all of that being said, we’ll bring you to our last tip.
Set the Mood
We recommend that you set the mood before you choose your intake method. Turn down those lights, put on some music, light the scented candles, make sure you both are in a good mental space. You could cook up a romantic dinner. Mix up some edible dessert. You could even take it up a notch and give your partner a massage and rub on some hemp lotion, or take a bath and add in a cannabis bath bomb. Smoke that bowl, take that dab, eat an edible, and enjoy yourself! This is where you take your first step into the depths. It’s all up to you and your partner from here. Make sure you are achieving all that you desire.
